A MAN IN UNIFORM | J.H.
pairing: brother's best friend!jim hopper x fem!reader
word count: 1.4k
warnings: age gap (reader in her late 20s)
summary: your brother's best friend has always been hot, but him stepping in when you got an unfair ticket strutting around in his sheriff uniform has you feeling some type of way
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, had Hopper walked out of his office to find anyone else making a scene in the middle of the police station, shouting at the top of their lungs, catching every eye in the room, throwing things at one of his best officers- he’d have thrown them right out the door. But it wasn’t anyone else, it was you, his best friend’s little sister and heaven knows he at least had to give you a chance before doing exactly that. He folded his arms and leaned against the open door of his office as he shook his head to stop his deputy from getting your attention.
He'd been thinking about you a lot lately, picked up the phone and slammed it down again, dialed your number, and then shoved the phone away, imagining your voice on the other end- would you be excited to hear from him, surprised maybe? He saw you properly at Christmas and Thanksgiving every year and sometimes easter, ran into you around town, and flirted a little in the movie store but not nearly as often as when you were teenagers hopping between diners and bars in high school.
“Listen here, bucko,” you pointed a bright red-nailed finger at the officer who was smirking far too smugly in your opinion, all things considered. “Do you have any idea how close I am to kicking you right off that chair?” he didn’t think you were serious, Hopper knew you were, so when you took a step forward, he did too.
“Lady, I don’t know what to tell you, it’s just a ticket.”
“Just a ticket,” you shrieked, it was a familiar sound, one much like the one you’d give him when he’d thrown you in the pool on summer break or cut you off from the jello shots back in university, it didn’t mean anything good was to come. “If my brother finds out I was given a ticket in his car by some dipshit who just got his badge, he’ll have my head- no matter the reason for said ticket being that the asshat in question had his little ego bruised when I didn’t want to go out with him and decided to get back at me,” Hopper moved at that, a gentle hand on the small of your back, a dangerous look aimed at the officer in front of you as he mumbled your last name just loud enough to let you know it’s him.
“Hopper,” the officer tutted, seemingly under the impression that he was about to be backed and not the other way around, smugness only growing as he stood up to hand over the ticket that you’d thrown at him earlier. “I tried to talk her down,” he scoffed, you fumed, the audacity. “You know how these girls are, can’t take no for an answer.”
“You little shit.”
“Language,” Hopper reminded you, but he was smiling in a way that meant he didn’t mind nearly as much as he should, lightly pulling you behind him and pointing towards his office, it was a clear command and you’d not take it so seriously were he not looking down at you, were he not so close to you, had you not realized in a split second how long it’s been since you’d seen him in uniform doing all of the above somehow making it all seem absurdly attractive. “I’ll take care of it, yeah, meet me in my office. “
Jim Hopper was the only man who could give you an order like that and have it obeyed, even with a big huff and stomped steps and a whole ordeal of uttered musings and threats, you did go to his office, and you busied yourself with the little figurines on his desk while you waited. He was talking to or rather at the officer you’d lost your cool with and you weren’t nearly as curious about what he was saying as you should’ve been. He’s always been attractive, always been too kind to be that hot and you remember countless years being wasted on having a crush on your lame brother’s very cool best friend who picked you up from school and carried your books and turned down nights with girls far out of his league in favor of keeping an eye on you and put out his cigarette when you were near- and now that very cool, very hot, very kind man was walking right towards looking far too damn good in a uniform you’d have to stop yourself from imagining him without.
“Is it safe in there?” he hummed as he stilled in the doorway, one hand holding a crumbled-up ticket, the other reaching to the coat rack to take his hat and you watched him with narrowed eyes as he set it on his head. “Stop frowning at me like that, trouble,” he wasn’t serious, really, he found it adorable even though he knew he shouldn’t, then again, he also shouldn’t have disciplined an officer for being an ass to his friend, but that ship has also sailed.
“Did you put him in his place?” you dared, taking his keys from his paper stack before sliding off his desk to meet him at the door, that same finger that you used to point at the officer now sliding over his tie to straighten it. “Because I’ll walk right back to him if you didn’t.”
“Course I did,” he was the smug one this time and it had the exact opposite effect on you, especially when the officer came walking past the office with a box full of goods and his tail between his legs on his way to the public complaint department of the station and you understood why Hopper seemed so pleased with himself. “Happy?” he dared but of course you were, so much so that you tugged his tie lightly to pull him closer and placed a red-lipped kiss right on his cheek, giggling from the feeling of the little hairs of his beard creeping up over tinted skin.
“Very happy, Jimmy,” you cooed, and he was glad for the door frame because he wasn’t sure he’d be able to keep himself standing were it not there. “Seems that uniform of yours is good for more than just making me nervous,” you admitted and gave him no time to push for more before slipping past him into the hallway, stealing his hat and gripping his keys tightly as you did. “Are you taking me out for lunch to celebrate, sheriff?” as if he’d ever say no, as if you’d ever let him.
“As long as you’re not driving,” he knew it would rile you up just enough to frown all perfectly at him, with big eyes and scrunched nose as you walked backward towards the exit.
“I’m ordering an extra piece of pie just for that.”
“I thought we were sharing,” he countered, quick to follow just in case you tripped and hurt yourself. You shook your head, tutting as he caught up with you just in time to grab your hand and pull you out of the way of some stranger.
“No way, got to keep those pants of yours looking nice and tight.”
“Naughty,” he breathed, and he paired the word with a little whistle and desperate glance away from your teasing, very longing gaze. You made quite the little show of licking your thumb and wiping carefully at the red lip stain on his face, for a moment you allowed yourself to imagine what it would be like to cover him with those all over, his neck, his chest, those big arms of his and in turn you found your cheeks spreading with warmth and wondered if you were too old to have a crush on your brother’s best friend or the town sheriff for that matter.

Your under ar- where'd he go.
Eddie munson x hopper!reader
Summary: I'm living for Eddie x hoppers daughter so... Eddie gets arrested by hopper and daniels one night and he manages to run away. But he runs to your house. Still in cuffs.
"Don't make this harder, then it needs to be, munson," Hopper said, cuffing Eddie's hands behind his back. Eddie got caught driving while smoking a joint. Now he's pressed up against his van with hopper, cuffing him and Officer daniels taking notes.
Eddie starts to think. He could try to pick the cuffs, but the hopper would notice. Then he had an amazing idea. With his hands still close together, Eddie was able to slip two of the rings off of his left hand and hold them in his right.
He peeked over his shoulder quickly to see hopper looking at daniels as they spoke. Eddie moved his hands slightly to the left and threw them as hard as he could at the side of the van. Hopper let go of eddies back as his hand flew to the gun in his pocket. Officer daniels did the same.
With them both distracted Eddie bolted. He ran as fast as he could. "OH shit munson!" Hopper shouted behind him. But Eddie didn't stop. The to cops chase after him but they eventually run out of breath and have to stop. Giving Eddie the perfect escape route.
"How is that kid so fast?" Officer daniels pants. "Not a bloody clue" Hopper says whipping the swet off his head. But it leads Hopper to think. Where could he possibly go with cuffs on.
-
Your laying in your bed listening to music quietly as you rearrange your room... again...
Els sat in the living room watching TV. She hears a knock at the door. An eager, frustrated, sounding knock. Els not allowed to answer the door. "Y/n, there's someone banging on the door." She calls out for you.
You exit your room and approach the living room door grabbing the bat by the door and checking the guns still behind the door. This could be anyone from a drunk Nancy to the government looking for el. Your taking no chances.
You open the door and raise the bat as a warning. "Christ y/n don't hit me." Eddie shouts. You lower the back seeing it only being your boyfriend. You rush him Inside confused by his antics. Then you see his hands in cuffs behind his back and him out of breath dripping with swet.
"Are you OK? Why are you in cuffs? What happend?" You panic slightly. Eddie steps to you trying to hold you but being stopped by the handcuffs... then looking annoyed and just pissed.
"Babe I'm fine. I was smoking a joint while driving home and I got pulled by your amazing father and daniels. Calm down hunny." Eddie says smiling at you. You guide him to the kitchen.
You go through the draw of keys seeing if one will fit in the key hole of the cuffs. To your luck one do and you free Eddie. He rubs his wrists and you see the red imprints the cuffs left on him. "Thanks princess" he says hugging you finally. You hug him back.
He looks down and kisses you sweetly. "What would I do without ya?" HE says keeping his face close to yours.
"Still be in handcuffs." You laugh kissing Eddie. He nods raising his brows. You stay like that in the kitchen for a moment when you hear the front door unlock, open, and get closed and locked.
You hear the drop of your dad's heavy boots. "You OK dad?" El askes frowning at him.
"I'm fine we arrested munson boy but he ran away and now I've lost another set of perfectly good cuffs to that little shit." HE complains about to el hanging his coat up. As he sits in his recliner you enter the living room smiling.
Before hopper can say anything Eddie steps in behind you swinging the cuffs on one finger. "OH these cuffs Jim?" Eddie askes grinning ear to ear. You look to your dad and see the annoyance take over. "You really ran away from me and came to my house." HE says angrily. Eddie nods still grinning.
Then your dad's eyes snap to you. "We had the key so I unlocked them." You say smiling worriedly. "OH relax babe he's just annoyed you got to see me before he did." Eddie says trying to get you out the shit for helping him.
"You know what I'm to tired for this shit. Munson you win this one but I'll get ya next time." Hopper says leaning back in his seat as el passes him a cup of tea. He smiles at her.
"Sure hop maybe I'll let you win when I get some bail money in let you feel victorious." Eddie says sitting next to you pulling you into his side. Everyone stays quiet as the show plays on the TV. You yawn and suggest bed and your dad tells Eddie he can stay the night door stays open. You enter your room and Eddie closes the door.
You change into one of Eddie's hoodies he left once and he just strips into boxers. You get into your bed and eddies hand finds your ass giving it a squeeze while smirking.
"Please stop getting in trouble with my dad I'm sick of getting the cuffs off of you." You mumble.
"NO promises." HE smirks eyes closed.
"Atleast try for me?" You ask moving closer.
"OK ill try." HE mumbles back in pretend annoyance.
"Thank you."
"I love you." He says kissing you sweetly.
"I love you too."
"I love you more."
"Bitch."
"You love it."
As you both start to drift off to sleep. Your door flings open "door. Stays. Open. For gods sake." You dad shouts walking off. You throw your head on the pillow as Eddie laughs quietly.
"See babe I'm made for causing trouble to your dad. I'm breaking the rules just laying here." HE smirks kissing you smirking.
He was an absolute idiot. But you wouldn't have him any other way.

Lilly Harrington
Tumblr media
Summary - it is Christmas and the Harringtons family are spending it in Florida and they get to invite one person each Steve obviously invited his girlfriend, Ruby and Lilly got forced by Steve to invite, Alex because he didn’t want him to spend it without his sister, Ruby and stay at home at Christmas with his drunk Dad.
The Florida sun beat down on the Harrington family's rented beach house as Lilly, a whirlwind of blonde hair and blue eyes, stomped around the living room, muttering under her breath. 'Christmas in Florida? Seriously?' she griped, kicking a strategically placed palm frond.
'It's a change of pace, Lil,' Steve, her brother, said, trying to sound nonchalant as he wrestled with a tangled strand of Christmas lights. He'd invited his girlfriend, Ruby, to join them, a decision Lilly had begrudgingly accepted. Ruby was nice enough, though a little too 'perfect' for Lilly's taste.
The real problem was Alex. Steve, in a fit of overprotective brotherliness, had insisted Lilly invite Alex, her best friend, and his sister, Ruby. Alex was a force of nature, a blur of energy and impulsive decisions, and at 13, he was a walking disaster. He was currently trying to assemble a Christmas tree, resulting in a tangled mess of branches and limbs.
'He's going to break it,' Lilly muttered, her eyes narrowed at Alex.
'He's just trying to help,' Ruby said, rescuing a pine branch from Alex's clumsy grasp. She was used to Alex's antics, having grown up with him, and a kind smile graced her lips as she helped him untangle the Christmas lights.
Lilly rolled her eyes. 'He's got ADHD, Ruby, not a bad case of 'helpful.' '
Alex, completely unfazed by Lilly's barb, grinned at Ruby. 'See? Lilly's finally admitting I'm helpful!' He then proceeded to accidentally drop a bauble, causing it to shatter on the floor.
'Alex!' Lilly shrieked, her frustration boiling over. She was about to unleash a full-force, teenage tirade when Steve intervened. 'Look, Lil, you know Alex needs his sister, and Ruby needs her brother. Just let it go for one day, okay?'
Lilly, despite her inner rebellion, knew Steve was right. Alex was her best friend, even if he was a walking, talking, Christmas-decorating disaster. She sighed, grabbing a broom to clean up the shattered bauble.
'Fine,' she grumbled, 'but if he breaks anything else, I'm blaming you, Steve. You're the one who insisted on inviting them.'
The ensuing days were a whirlwind of beach trips, sunburns, and Christmas cheer, albeit a bit chaotic. Alex, in his energetic chaos, somehow managed to get his head stuck in the banister while trying to reach a high-up ornament. Ruby, ever the practical one, had to pry him free.
Despite the occasional drama, Lilly found herself enjoying the holiday with her friends. Even Alex, with his tendency to get into trouble, was a welcome addition to their Christmas adventures. As they walked along the beach, watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink, Lilly felt a small flicker of warmth in her heart. Maybe Christmas in Florida wasn't so bad after all.

The soft morning light was shining through the shitty curtains in Hopper’s bedroom, calling it a bedroom was a stretch it was a corner of the cabin section off by another curtain. The not bedroom bedroom wasn’t what you care about.
You cared about the chief of police in bed next to you, Jim Hopper. You still got a rush when you thought about him, even his name sent you crazy.
A grumble sounded by your side, Hopper turned over facing you, hiding his face from the sun. “Damn curtains” he groaned.
You laughed. “I’ve been telling you for weeks to buy new ones” you smile.
He mumbled something you couldn’t make out.
“You got something to say” you poked him in his side.
He grumbled again. Then jumped on you. You cried out in surprise, as he rubbed his face into your neck. Kissing your neck and collar bone. You squirmed under him laughing as his beard tickled you. He finally took his attention away from your neck and launched onto your lips.
You opened his mouth against his advancing the kiss. You wrapped your arms around his neck grinding against him. Your hand wandered down to the waistband of his underwear, he kissed you more hungrily biting your bottom lip making your hiss. You wrapped your hand around his hardening cock. At first contact he gasped against your lips.
Slowly you moved your hand up and down building speed. Taking your time teasing him, smiling the whole time. “Why you gotta do this to be darlin’” he rasped, growing breathless. It gave you a power rush to get this big strong man weak.
You kissed his softly still keeping the same pace, “I like seeing you worked up honey”.
He made a deep sound in the back of his throat when you picked up the speed. In your hand you felt his cock twitches. The faster you went the deep the sound went. His face was pressed against your neck mumbling dirty words building himself up.
After he came you pulled your hand from his boxers and licked your fingers clean. You barely had time to pull your hand away before he kissed you hard and messy.
“You can’t just look me in the eye and do that” he sighed face pressed against yours.
You played with his chest hair, “thought you liked it” you asked faking confusion.
He growled, attacking your neck and chest moving a hand down your body. You threw your head back biting your bottom lip. Outside the curtain your heard El’s door open and shut.
“ahhh” you stopped him. “The kid’s up”.
He kissed you one last time, “to be continued”.
-x-
When El’s was feed and happy in front of the tv, you started the washing up. Hopper wrapped his arms around your middle, pressing himself against you. “You need a shower” you laughed nudging him away. He kissed your neck.
“Join me?” he asked pulling at your top.
“Gross” El remarked from the sofa.
You chuckled nodding, “I again gross”.
Hopper spun your around laughing with you. You wrapped your arms around his neck. Looking at him you felt happier than you had before. “You’re an idiot…but I love you”.
The room went silent, Hopper was just staring at you open mouthed. You struggled to say anything staring back. “I need to go…I said I’d cover Steve’s shift” you pulled away hurrying to grab your bag then leaving.
-x-
You hadn’t lifted your head for 5 minutes, softly mumbling to yourself.
Robin totally unprepared for this patted your head, trying to comfort you.
“I’m such an idiot” you cried.
“I wouldn’t say that” Robin said patting your head some more.
You sat up with a start, “I am! I looked him in the eyes and told him I loved him!”. You ate a mouth full of ice cream, “I mean what did I expect would happen? He has a kid and he’s so much older than me! why did I think he would want something serious”.
She looked unsure what to say.
“I love him Robin like I could go crazy with loving him” you whispered close to tears.
She pulled out a spoon to eat some ice cream, “Been there and it sucks”.
“Yep” you smiled sadly, “it does”.
-x-
Having to sleep in your own bed was terrible, it was uncomfortable and most of all lonely. You had gotten so use to waking or falling asleep next to Jim now it was impossible to sleep alone. It was over, it was over you lay there repeating and repeating it, hoping it would set in.
The phone had been ringing no stop all day, caller ID told you in was Hopper. Instead of answering you sat there watching it ring going through all the things you or he could say.
You sat up with a start hearing someone knock on your door, heart racing you waited for it to stopped. Just your luck someone was trying to break in and kill you when you weren’t talking to the chief of police.
After a few minutes the knocking stops relaxing you lay down back in bed, then the knocking started at your window.
Pulling a basketball bat from under your bed and went outside being as quiet as you could.
“I’ve called the police” you lied, “So you better not try anything funny”.
Hopper stepped out the shadows holding his hands up. “I know you’re better liar than that”.
You put down the bat, “Jesus Hopper” you huffed. “You trying to give me a heart attack”.
“I wanted to talk to you” He stepped forward reaching out.
You spun around, “There’s nothing to talk about”.
“Come on Darlin’” he stopped you putting his hand on your shoulder.
You breathed, “I told I loved you and you said nothing. What else is there to say”.
“Darlin’” he started.
“No” you held up your hand, “You don’t get to call me that when you stood there and said nothing. It’s over, I won’t stay with someone who doesn’t love me back”.
“Would you let me talk” he spoke louder than you.
Setting your jaw you nodded.
“I didn’t say anything this morning cause I was scared, okay!” he moved his hand from your shoulder to your cheek. “After losing my wife and kid, I thought that was it for me, I wouldn’t get a second chance”.
You looked at him not knowing what to say this time.
“Then you came along with your charm and cockiness. And you stole my heart”.
You opened your mouth but he cut you off.
“You know how many morning I’ve laid next to you trying to find the words for how I feel?” he yelled slightly.
“So you’re saying…”.
“I’m saying I love you”.
You kissed him messy and fast, taking him by surprise. “Are going to come in?” you asked in between kisses.
He pick you up with a huff, “did say to be continued, didn’t I?”.

S2. Ep 3 & 4
The Pollywog & Will the Wise
Word count: 3477
chapter warnings: semi follows the plot. lowkey kinda repetitive. cursing. post halloween party. billy.
~*~ ~*~ ~*~
Nights in Hawkins were cold, but Y/N couldn’t feel anything other than the sugar in her system. After they had ditched the party, Steve and Y/N went on the hunt for candy, the pair craving it. They’d located it (Steve gave two kids ten dollars each for their bags) and walked until they found the precipice of the lake. Steve had helped her onto the tabletop of the wooden set and handed her a bag of candy.
“You still regret coming back to Hawkins?” Steve asked after she popped in a chocolate bar. She stared at him with wide eyes, causing the two to break into a fit of laughter.
“No,” she answered, “Weird as it may sound, I missed Hawkins.”
“Why’d you come back?” he asked, unknowingly striking a nerve. Y/N tensed and looked at her hands.
“Just missed my dad’s all,”
The two justified the strange silence between them by eating their candy. She would risk glances at Steve, missing it when he did the same to her. It took a while and several candy bars until the two got comfortable, sharing anecdotes that wouldn’t make sense under normal circumstances. Tears in their eyes, the two shared the same thought. It felt as if they were kids again, sharing secrets and jokes. As if she’d never left.
“Of, fuck,” she cursed, risking a glance at her watch, “oh, shit. We have to go.”
“Why?” Steve laughed, “your car turning into a pumpkin at 1?”
She would’ve laughed at his stupid joke had she not been panicking, “no, but if I’m late, my dad’s gonna have a hernia.”
Her words were sobering. Steve rushed down from the wooden table and urged her to his car, driving to Tina’s house with determination. She thanked him in a hurried tone and got into her car, speeding away and leaving Steve behind her.
With haste, she opened the door, praying to any higher being that it was kept unlocked for her. Silently celebrating when the lock didn’t give her any problems, she stepped in and looked around the dark cabin. A sigh of relief escaped her mouth at the sight of an empty house, her father nowhere to be seen.
“Do you know what time it is, Tulip Hopper?” She jumped at the sound of her father’s rough voice.
“Quarter till one,” Y/N responded, a sheepish smile on her face. Her eyes settled on her father, who sat on the love seat, a beer in hand.
“You said midnight,” he reminded. Y/N shook her head in disagreement, instantly regretting it when the dizziness hit her.
“I said one at the latest,” Hopper rolled his eyes.
“You smell like the back of a bar,” he accused, “were you drinking? And driving?”
Y/N shook his head, “never. I had a drink spilled on me. I just had a pillowcase worth of candy, that’s all.”
Hopper sighed, “just go to bed. You have school in the morning.”
“Good idea,” Y/N nodded, the sugar crash finally hitting her. She stumbled into her bedroom, falling face-first on the mattress. “Good night, Dad. Good night, El.”
“Go to sleep, Tulip!” her father exclaimed from the living room.
~*~
The basketball scrimmage had long since started by the time Y/N entered the gym. She sat on the wooden bleachers beside her friend Maura, eyes moving from player to player until they settled on Steve. She glanced behind him at the guy guarding him. He was close. Too close for it to be considered fair play, but she doubted that Steve, or the guy, cared. She cringed, watching Steve get pushed back, scowling at the guy. He was obnoxious.
“Steve?” Nancy Wheeler’s voice called out from the entrance of the gym. Y/N's gaze turned to her, as did Steve’s. Her eyes followed Steve’s body as he left the room. Y/N sighed. Her first class with Steve, and he hadn’t acknowledged her. It was as if the moments they shared the previous night didn’t matter to him. Spilling details of their lives on the edge of a lake while gorging on candy replayed in her mind, becoming a happy memory. But to Steve, it was probably nothing.
The game had been put on a timeout, the shirts team citing a loss of a member. Y/N placed a hand under her chin and propped it on her knee. The teacher had told her since she was new, she wouldn’t be forced to participate in any events. Not so close to the end of the semester, at least.
A nudge on her shoulder had Y/N looking at Maura, who only pointed upwards at the boy blocking her view.
“Pretty girl like you shouldn’t be so bored,” a gruff voice came from above her. She blinked unamused and made eye contact with the curly-haired douchebag.
“Can’t help it. You guys suck,” the boy took an uninvited seat next to her, effectively pushing Maura and her friends down the bench, spreading his legs until his knees touched hers. She moved them, giving him a side-eye.
“Even me?” he asked, smirk cooly cemented on his face, unfazed by her noticeable recoil.
“Especially you,” she replied, “Cheap shots are never entertaining.”
“What do you know about cheap shots in basketball?” he asked, blue eyes blinking at her through his lashes. She stared at him, unimpressed.
“I’m not an idiot,” she said, “you can’t rely on natural talent, so you resort to cheating.”
“I wouldn’t cheat on you,” he flirted. Y/N rolled her eyes.
“I don’t even know your name,”
“Billy,” he informed, stretching back against the bleachers and throwing his arm around her, “Billy Hargrove.”
“Mmhmm,” she wanted out of the conversation, “you still don’t know mine.”
“Pretty girl like you’s gotta have a pretty name,”
She thanked the heavens the second the whistle blew. Billy stood up and ran back to his team, flexing at her. She rolled her eyes. Gym class would be her longest class if Hargrove kept his pitiful antics. Steve ran back through the doors, distress evident on his face. She wondered what happened between him and Nancy. She wondered how they got involved in the first place. Steve and Y/N were a year older than her. It was odd.
~*~
Closing her locker shut after her history class, Y/N groaned. “Billy.”
“Word around the hall’s saying your name’s Tulip.” He boasted. Y/N blinked in annoyance, wondering which one of her friends had shared that information with him. The second day of classes had proved more successful than her first. She’d reunited with her old friends, and it was almost as if she’d never left.
“Only friends call me Tulip,” she stated, moving away from him. To her chagrin, he kept her pace.
“I can be more than a friend to you,” he whispered, leaning close to her ear, “that is if you want.”
“Hard pass,” she glared. She wondered who she killed in a past life to have deserved a punishment such as holding Billy Hargrove’s attention. Her rejection only seemed to ignite something in him and make him want her more.
“I’ll make you crack,” he promised, “I’ll have you begging for me.”
“If you say so,” she called over her shoulder, “oh, and just for your information, Billy, my dads the chief of police.”
Watching his suave demeanor fade was like a sweet victory to her. She joined the rest of the students walking out of the front entrance and set about her walk to the cabin. Elton John sang into her ears through her walkman. A burgundy car pulled up beside her, honking to gain her attention. Y/N startled and glared at the culprit.
“Why are you so obnoxious, Harrington?” she questioned, stopping in her tracks to talk to the boy through the open window.
“‘Cause it’s fun,” he smirked, eyes settling on the walkman tucked in her back pocket, “you going far?”
“Just home,” she replied with a shrug, “nothing too bad.”
“Get in,” he demanded softly, “I can take you.”
Y/N clicked her tongue, “and what about Nancy? Won’t she get mad when she hears you had another girl in your car?” Especially if the said girl was your crush way back when.
“I couldn’t care less about her right now,” Steve clipped, “now, get in the car, Rose.”
“You’re bossy,” she muttered as she got into the passenger seat of his car. He motioned for her to turn her window up to let the cold air remain outside. She was internally grateful she wouldn’t have to partake in the lengthy walk to the cabin. The autumn air had ripped in through the seams of her light sweatshirt and kissed her cheeks, turning them cold and dry. She had been wise enough to protect her lips with a tinted gloss.
“What were you listening to?” Steve asked, head motioning towards her walkman before his eyes turned back to the road.
“Your Song by Elton John,” she responded. Steve hummed, fingers tapping on the steering wheel.
“Pop it in?” he asked. She smiled and obliged, taking it out of the walkman and into his stereo, Elton John’s low voice echoing through the car. She watched Steve’s face, searching for any signs that would tell her whether he liked the song or not. A slight flicker of the eyes or a twitch of the lips. But he gave her nothing. She glared at him.
“Well,” she queried, “what do you think?”
He hummed, “it’s okay.”
She frowned at him, looking through his collection, “Elton John is more than okay. I shouldn’t even be wasting my breath. You like Wham!”
“What’s wrong with Wham!?” he questioned, “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go is a great song.”
Y/N scoffed, “yeah, for a middle school, prepubescent boy. You don’t know real music, Harrington. I saw one, ONE, Queen tape in your entire collection.”
“I have more at home,” he defended. It was a lie, but he didn’t want Y/N to continue picking at his less-than-stellar music taste. She only looked at him, staring right through his lie. She shook her head and changed the tape for another. Steve wasn’t going to admit it, not to his haughty friend, but her music was starting to grow on him.
He pulled up in front of the cabin, placed the car into park, and turned to look at her with a soft look on his face. She looked at him, “what happened with you and Nancy?”
Steve closed his eyes, “nothing important, okay? She’s not important right now.”
“Okay,” was all she said, not wanting to push him. “I’m going to leave my tape here. You know, so that you can have some decent music in your life.”
With those as her parting words, she stepped out of the car and walked towards the door. She waited until Steve was gone before she knocked on the door, waiting for El to open the door as she usually did. When Y/N didn’t hear the locks click, she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. Despite being distant, El was reliable. She would open the door within seconds of the knocking. The older girl wondered if El was as contrarious as her father was. If their fight the night before had extended onto her by extension of Hopper.
She tried the knock a final time. When the door failed to open, she submitted to her fate. With an annoyed groan, she sat down on the wooden steps and pulled out her notebooks with an annoyed groan. With the fleeting sunlight, she forced her eyes to focus on the numbers and words set against the white paper. It was pointless; the cold was merciless with its goal to make her miserable.
Hawkins was a safe town, but the woods were impetuous. The familiar sound of leaves crunching captured her attention. She had been vigilant the entire time she’d been sitting on the steps. The sight of her father had her sighing in relief. He gave her a weak smile and shrugged off his coat, wrapping it around her with the zipper. Hopper felt guilt course through him and settle in his gut at Y/N’s shivering. It wasn’t a cold night, but she had been left outside for hours with only the clothes on her back. In the middle of the woods.
“Let’s get you inside, Tulip,” he soothed, opening the door and letting her step in first. For a moment, the thought of El risking herself absconded his mind. He focused on bringing warmth to his eldest daughter, wanting nothing more than to prevent a cold from grasping onto her. Y/N wasn’t unaware that her dad felt guilty about leaving her to the uncompassionate weather, so she allowed him to dote on her.
“Where’s El?” she asked after her father had placed one too many blankets across her body. Her father tensed.
“I don’t know,” he answered honestly. Y/N nodded and let the conversation fade out. She was well-versed in her father’s moods, knowing when it was okay to trapeze and pry, and when to let the topic float away. She had yet to be informed on anything regarding El, but the topic was a touchy one for her father. Y/N had decided to let allow Hopper to come to her first about it and inform her on his own time. She didn’t know if she was being passive or understanding.
“You know, dad now would be a great time for you to explain everything,” Y/N tried, eyes boring into his. Hopper’s movements halted as he looked at his daughter and sighed.
“I will tell you everything in due time, Tulip,” he said, placing a mug of hot chocolate on the table in front of her, “I promise.”
His promise had her dropping the topic. He knew how sacred they were to her and just how impeccable she would become if he didn’t make good on it. She took them to heart, and every one she’d ever been made embedded itself in it. If the person dared to break one of their sacred oaths, her heart would go with it. It was trivial, she knew, but she took them seriously. Y/N leaned back against the cushions with a nod and closed her eyes. She could hear her father pacing.
“Dad,” she called, “El will show up, please stop pacing.”
The door opened and then closed, “that’s one way of stopping.” She couldn’t be bothered to be annoyed as long as her father stopped adding onto her growing headache. From the corner of her barely open eyes, she could see the silhouette of her father on the porch, a lit cigarette dangling from his fingers. Part of her was worried about El, but guilt coursed through her veins at the thought of it being a small part. She knew no one would blame her–she’d only just met her–but the older sister part of her did. El was her sister, whether she liked it or not. For a brief moment, the image of Sara splayed through her mind. Her younger sister would be disappointed at the thought of Y/N not accepting someone as family. Especially someone her father had taken in as his own.
El stomped in before her father did. Hopper slamming the door only worsened her headache. She had only ever seen her father furious once in her life. He was an easy man to anger, his anger issues only inflaming after he came back from the war. He had sworn that he would never raise his voice at her the last time she’d seen him infuriated. Her father had kept his promise, but he never said anything about not raising his voice around her.
“‘Friends don’t lie.’ Isn’t that your bullshit saying?” from her place on the couch, surrounded by the mountain of blankets, she could see Hopper and El. She winced. The younger girl stomped towards the bedroom, Hopper following her with the same volcanic anger.
“Hey, hey! Hey! Don’t walk away from me!” His hand stopped the door from slamming. She could see El, her face distraught and unwavering. Y/N’s heart panged at the sight of her watery eyes, but she couldn’t do anything. Not while her head pounded uncontrollably.
“Where’d you go on your little field trip, huh?” her father asked, his words biting, “where?”
Y/N wasn’t blind to the look of sadness in El’s eyes. Hopper seemed to have missed it in his anger. She watched the two, voices raised and fingers pointing. Y/N felt small and awkward like she was intruding. Despite being part of the family, she felt like an outsider. The two knew things that Y/N didn’t, and they hadn’t shown any signs of including her. Not wanting to be a spectator, she walked into her shared bedroom and closed the door. Sounds of things moving and falling filled her ears. She ignored it. Whatever was happening behind her four walls was between El and Hopper.
El slammed the door shut, and in her headache-induced mind, Y/N brushed off the fact that she did it without touching it. She stared at El as she slid against the wall and let out a sharp scream, the sound of glass breaking echoing through the closed door. Y/N stood up from her bed, a pink blanket wrapped around her as she sat beside El.
“El?” she tried cautiously, “can I hug you?”
The jerk of her head was small, swift. She almost missed it. Y/N opened her arms and pulled her in, draping the pink blanket across their shoulders. El’s sobs wracked her body, and all Y/N did was hold her, small comforting words leaving her lips. Y/N’s fingers drew shapes on El’s arms, trying to keep El’s tears at bay. El’s breathing evened out, and Y/N stood up, her arms under her knees, and lifted her. She set her on her bed and kissed her forehead, tucking her in. For the first time, she felt as if she were El’s sister.
She decided to give Hopper space. As much as she wanted both of them to be on good terms, meddling and playing the person in the middle was the last thing she wanted to do. Settling into her bed again, she wrapped herself in her blanket and closed her eyes. Her father was going to apologize eventually, he was the adult, and he was out of hand. It wasn’t going to happen the usual way; he would do it in his own Jim Hopper way. He would begin the apology and then go back to being a hard-ass.
~*~
Gym class was her least favorite class. Billy Hargrove was relentless. He deemed her worthy of his attention, and while others may have swooned, she felt it was punishment for something. Her declaration of her being the Chief’s daughter did nothing to dissuade him; it only tamed some of his comments. The moment she stepped into the gymnasium, the sight of a shirtless Billy greeted her.
“Liking what you see?” Billy asked. Y/N gave him a blank look and pushed past him. He only laughed and followed after her.
“I’m gonna make you want me,” he stated.
“Tough chance,” was her reply. She turned away from him. He chuckled and walked away, flexing his muscles and making his way to the basketball court. She watched the game before them, noticing the dirty way Billy played. She wasn’t going to deny he was attractive, she understood why he had a flock of girls swooning over him, but he wasn’t the one she had her eyes set on. Billy Hargrove was too abrasive for her liking.
Her mind wandered back to El. She felt bad for the girl. Her father was hardheaded and stubborn, and while she had a great relationship with him, it wasn’t easy to build it. She only hoped his relationship with El would get better with time. She also hoped El would trust her as a sister would, to come to her when she needed comfort or company. Last night had been the first step towards that.
“Hey,” Steve’s voice called from behind her. She turned to smile at him, waiting for him to catch up to her.
“King Steve,” she greeted teasingly, “how can this humble commoner help you?”
Steve nudged her with his shoulder, “shut up. You know they’re calling you Hawkins’ Flower, right?”
Y/N glowered at him, “shut up.”
Steve laughed and stuck his hands in his pocket, “I need your help.”
Y/N turned to him, “with what?”
“Apologizing to Nancy,”
Y/N nodded, ignoring the growing green she felt in her body, “okay, what do you need?”
The grin on Steve’s face was worth the subtle breaking in her heart and the growing pit of sadness.

The perfect gift 🎁
Can I request an Eddie x reader fluff where it's Christmas and the reader gives him something he always wanted and he starts crying? Idk I just thought it would be really cute :D
Request by anon 💞
Warnings; fluff, a bit of angst at the start
Likes or reblogs are always appreciated 🙂💞 I don't give anyone permission to copy my work
💞
Eddie was inconsolable. His sweetheart, his faithful guitar who had seen him through many years was broken.
It had been a hell of a year what with Vecna, surviving a demobat attack that nearly killed him and seeing the deaths of Chrissy Cunningham and Jordan from the basketball team.
He was lucky to even survive through Vecna's attack and be cleared of the false murder charges that were on him for the deaths.
It's not like Hawkins's PD would believe him if he said that a supernatural being from The Upside Down caused the deaths. Would they?
No, it wasn't until Jim Hopper came back whom everyone thought was dead that he managed to get his name cleared because Hopper knew about all the shit that when on in Hawkins.
With Vecna defeated and the Upside Down no more he and his friends had managed to have a semi-normal life.
The nightmares still happened and the scars from the demo bats were still present, sometimes he would wake up from a nightmare and have severe panic attacks.
One person was always a constant through this.
Yn. She was Robin's cousin and he met her properly when Dustin, Max, Nancy, Steve and Robin were helping him when he was on the run after Chrissy's death from Vecna that happened in his trailer.
He was hesitant to trust her at first, she went to Hawkins, was a cheerleader. She could rat him out to Carver in a second.
But she didn't. She was kind and sarcastic and funny, her sweetness thawed his heart and he fell for her.
They had begun dating once he was out of the hospital and healed from the bat attacks, she visited him every day and they grew closer and closer and fell in love.
She was one of the bright spots in his life, along with his friends and Uncle Wayne.
Speaking of his princess she steps into the trailer and at seeing his anguished face rushes over to him.
"Baby? did you have a nightmare?" he shakes his head and shows her the guitar.
"I've had my sweetheart for years. It's the best fucking guitar and now it's broken. I don't know how long it will take me to save up for a new one" she gently smoothes his hair and kisses his forehead.
"Don't worry babe, we will figure something out I promise"
💞💞
Yn would be the first to admit she knew absolutely nothing about guitars but what she did know is that Eddie's sweetheart was one of his most precious belongings and she was determined to buy him a new guitar.
So she worked harder than ever, took extra shifts and used some of the money she had hidden away for emergencies to go to a guitar shop and buy him a new one.
Nothing could replace his old guitar but she did hope this would cheer him up a little bit.
It was a full hour of searching before she came across one that looked similar to his sweetheart.
The guitar was stunning with beautiful vivid colours and she could imagine Eddie playing on it.
She loved watching him rehearse or play at the Hideout, it was pretty damn sexy.
Immediately she goes to the cashier and tells him that she wants and pays for it then goes home to wrap it.
It's only a week to go until Christmas and she can't wait to see Eddie's face when he opens it. She also purchased a new D&D handbook for his campaigns.
Even though they had graduated high school Eddie still hosted Hellfire night for his little sheeples.
This book was something he wanted and she was fascinated by the d&d lore. The way that Eddie weaved stories for the campaigns was magical and she loved when he made up stories for her.
When she was feeling upset or blue he would make up the most wonderful stories and she would snuggle up beside him and listen intently loving him more and more.
Hopefully, he loved this guitar that she picked for him. She knew it wouldn't replace his sweetheart but she hoped he liked it.
❤❤
It was Christmas eve and she and Eddie were exchanging presents even though they would be spending the holidays together.
Eddie had created a storybook of his stories that he promised to read to her and add to, beautiful perfume and a gorgeous necklace that she treasured.
When it came to him opening his guitar she watched as he gently ripped open the wrapping paper and then the box that she had put the guitar in so it didn't look totally obvious what she bought him.
The look in his eyes when he opened the box made her want to cry with happiness. His eyes light up and he took it out gazing at it in reverence.
"Fuck, baby this is fucking amazing" she beams.
"I know nothing can replace your sweetheart Eddie but I hope this brings happy memories too" he grins and kisses her, over her head and cheeks and then her lips.
"I Love it, princess, this is totally fucking metal!!" he immediately begins to play and the smile on his face is the sweetest as he performs a few songs, smiling in excitement.
It truly was a special Christmas

Standing in the ruins of her father’s cabin, Y/N’s chest ached. She often came here, ever since that day last summer. It looked the exact same as it did that night - a shell of a once lively house. Even if this wasn’t the home he raised her in, it was the cabin they made a home in such a short period of time. The Mind Flayer had ruined it, only the walls left standing. Everything else smashed and broken, even possession.
The sting of tears made Y/N’s eyes feel like they were burning out of her head. The Mind Flayer took her home, but the Russians took her father. In their greed to become the most feared country, they ripped the one thing Y/N loved the most from her. The one thing that she had in her life that was constant was gone. Sure, Jim Hopper was battling his demons, drinking, a bit aggressive in his parenting tactics, and a horrible communicator, but he was her father. He loved her with every fibre of his being.
Swallowing thickly, she spied a broken picture frame sticking out of the ruins, most likely from the wind pushing it around overtime. Slowly walking towards it, Y/N felt the old floor shifting under her. Soon, it wasn’t going to be safe to stand here. She feared that day. The bit of cabin was the only thing she had left of her father. He had sold their home when they had to protect El. Their prized possessions and keepsakes were either damaged or pillaged by teens who stumbled upon the empty cabin before they could finish off the Mind Flayer.
Bending down, she grabbed the picture, wiping off the dirt. It was her father and her. She was six, in a horribly itchy red and green dress. It was her elementary school Christmas Recital. She had on bright tights and a pair of shiny black shoes. Her grandmother had helped him dress her that time. Usually, for this recital, he would have put her in a green dress with her pink ballet tights. After that year, he had stuck to the same colour palette. Smiling down fondly at the picture, she couldn’t help but let a tear slip. “I miss you. So much,” She whispered, eyes squeezed closed. “I think you’d be proud of me, Dad,” She swallowed the hard ball that was forming in her throat, trying to ignore how her heart felt like it was being ripped in half. “I’m taking on this whole world. Just like you always told me to.”
Y/N stood there, looking in her full length mirror. It was her first day of senior year, it had to be perfect. Her shaking hands brushed over her outfit for the sixth time in that minute. Humming, she shuffled to the side, inspecting the outfit she had picked out last night for any flaw, turning up with nothing. However, she couldn’t find anything great about the outfit either. Light blue coloured mom jeans (brand new so fitting perfectly), converse, and a dark green mock neck sweater. There was nothing bad but nothing particularly amazing about the outfit. “Y/N, hurry up and eat your breakfast before you run out the door saying you’re too busy to eat.” Her dad told her, his voice nearing her partially open door.
“Coming.” She told him, but she didn’t move from her spot in front of the mirror. In the reflection, she saw her door being pushed open and her father appeared, clad in his brown uniform, his had noticeably missing.
“Y/N, I told you already, your outfit looks fine. I want you to eat before you leave,” He reminded her. Despite his gruff and aggressive appearance, her father’s words were spoken with a sense of softness. She sighed, slumping her shoulders as she turned away from the mirror. His brown eyes watched her. He was dense with the whole girl dad thing. It wasn’t easy trying to understand them, but he tried. Which is why he stepped into the room further, pushing the door closed behind him. “What’s going on? It’s gotta be more than worrying about your outfit.”
He sat on her bed seconds before she joined him. “I don’t know. My life is changing, should I really be wearing the same clothes I wear every first day?”
“What are you talking about,” He questioned, brows furrowed as he looked at her outfit. “Those pants and the shirt are all new. You’ve never worn them before.” She laughed at this, which wasn’t his intention, but he couldn’t help but smile and feel his heart melting.
“Not the clothes, but the style. I’m graduating, my life is completely flipped upside down after this year, but here I am dressing the exact same way and doing my hair the exact same way, going to the exact same school to hang out with the exact same people,” She muttered, feeling stupid about her worries. “I don’t know,” She shrugged. “It’s scary and I don’t think I am ready for it.” She confessed, her eyes finally looking up at her. The same exact eyes looked back at her. Everybody said that she had her father’s eyes.
Her father sighed in understanding, smiling sadly down at her. “If anyone isn’t ready for you to graduate, it’s me. I mean, one second I am dropping you off at kindergarten then all of a sudden, you’re sixteen getting ready for your senior year,” He informed her, nudging her shoulder with his arm, making her laugh. She hated being so much younger than her classmates, but she was starting senior year as a sixteen year old, turning seventeen in December. He had to fight the sadness filling him, knowing his daughter is growing up, because she needed him to be her rock. She needed him to be her cheerleader. “Never in my mind did I ever think you weren’t ready. You are going to take on this whole wide world, chasing your dreams,” He suddenly turned serious. “And I will be here, cheering you on because you’re always going to be my little girl. And just know, as long as you know the road that takes you home again, I will be here for you.”
“Just the road? That’s the only way you’ll be there for me?” She asked. Hopper looked at her, ready to get mad that she took it like he wasn’t going to be there for her, but that crooked little smile played on her lips - the same crooked little smile she wore when she was a kid whenever she did anything she wasn’t supposed to. Instantly, his anger and his naturally icy heart was melting, just like it always did and just like it always will.
“Real smart, you little ass,” He laughed, making her join in on the laughter. “Now, I still want you to eat, but I would rather you not drive like a maniac trying to get to school in time so I will put a few more snacks on the counter for you to stuff in your bag on your way out. I’ll add some change to it so you can get a drink at lunch,” He informed her as he stood up, walking out the door. “Have a great day, Pumpkin. I love you. So much.” He told her, he couldn’t put how much he loved her into words - he wasn’t good at emotions and sappy stuff, but he was confident she was sure how much he loved her, even if she didn’t realise he loved her more than anything.
“I love you more.” She said back and he was instantly reminded of everytime she said that exact thing to him in the past. From the time she could speak to that moment. For a second, he wanted her to be that toothless seven year old cuddling her teddy bear as he tucked her in again.
“I hope you would be proud of me,” She added in as her eyes slowly blinked open. “I am kinda taking on the world by myself at the moment-”
“And I’m sure you’re taking the world by storm despite that.” A voice scared her, making her whirl around, the picture frame clutched to her chest as her heart tried to run out of her chest. There he stood. Shaved head, bruises, and a crooked smile - the same one she wore when she got in trouble.
“Dad?” She breathed out, eyes wide. Was it a ghost? Was it her mind playing horrible tricks? What a cruel joke the universe was playing on her if the man standing before her in clothes that were obviously not his was all her imagination. Tentatively, she stepped towards him as he stood on the ground, through the damaged front door that was nearly off its hinges completely.
The man (or product of her grief) nodded. “It’s me, Pumpkin. For real.” He reassured her. He knew she was reluctant, not wanting to get her hopes up. The reality of the Upside Down has put them through hell and back. It was hard to trust anything the universe gave them. Win the lottery? Are they sure it wasn’t just a cruel trick the Upside Down conceived to put them through more hell? Supposedly dead father standing before you? Was Y/N sure it wasn’t secretly some sort of shape shifting creature set to destroy El?
She walked a few more steps, finally reaching the door frame. Hopper stayed in one spot, but now Y/N could see the people gathered off to the side, giving the father and daughter space. Joyce and Murray stood in the treeline, giving Y/N nods of reassurance. “Dad!” She broke into a smile, her heart delighted. She was too overcome with happiness to even think about questioning how he was standing there if he was dead.
The photo slipped from her grasp as she ran from the doorway, all the way down the rickety old steps. Arms out, she nearly tackled her father, hot tears streaming down her face as she actually felt the warmth of his embrace wrapping around her. He was real. He was here. His heart was beating. She could feel it hitting his chest. She could hear it as she pressed her ear against his chest, nearly squeezing the life out of him, “So you know the road that leads you home after all, even without me here, huh?” Hopper asked, the tearful chuckle rolling through his large form.
Pulling her head from his chest, her arms still attached to him like a little girl who is scared. She kind of was a little girl scared that her father would disappear if she let him go. “Huh?”
“You’re here. You came here all the way from West Lafayette. You knew the way home when you needed me. You did exactly what I told you that morning,” He took in her confused expression. “Joyce told me you chose Purdue. Smart girl, they did offer you a full-ride. Wish I could have been there to see your first day.”
“I wish you could have been there too, Dad.” She admitted, squeezing him in a hug again.
“Part of me doesn’t want to let you go back. Sometimes I wish I could just have a pause button so you would stop growing up. I would have paused it until I escaped the Russian base.” He whispered, pressing a kiss to the top of her head as tears started to fall from his eyes. Y/N was too overwhelmed to actually process that little bit of information, hoping to remember to ask him about it later. Joyce and Murray shared a look. This was a side of Hopper nobody saw. He was vulnerable. He was speaking in ways they didn’t think possible.
“No matter what happens, Dad,” Y/N pulled away from the hug slightly. “I’m always going to be your little girl. Me believing you were dead while you were really just a prisoner in a forgein country for so many months isn’t going to change that.” She joked, laughing through the tears rolling down her cheeks, the bright smile Hopper loved so much on her face.
“You’ll always be my little girl,” He repeated, pressing his lips together. “Pigtails and all in my mind.” He smiled as she rolled her eyes playfully at this, pushing his shoulder before embracing him yet again, still scared that he’ll disappear again.

You smiled, walking into the cabin. El was sitting in the living room waiting for you, big smile on her face. “Do you have it?” she asked, basically jumping up and down in her seat. “I do.” you chuckled, walking over to the television, kneeling down.
“Are you sure this is a good movie?” Eleven asked again, squirming in her seat. She was nervous. You had shown her so many amazing movies this past week but she was always scared the next one wouldn’t be as amazing as the last. “It’s the best movie.” you smiled, putting the vhs tape in.
“Can we move this to our room?” El asked quietly, hearing Hopper’s car pulling up outside. “You two have a fight again?” you questioned with a frown. The small girl shook her head, “Just don’t want to be around him right now.”
“Okay, we can.” you smiled, going to kneel back down then quietly yelping as the television and vhs player moved to the single bedroom. “sorry.” el muttered, taking your hand and half running to the room before Hopper knocked on the door.
Hearing the special knocks, El used her powers to unlock the door. You on the other hand were setting the tv back up, smiling as the trailers for other movies started to play.
Eleven closed the bedroom fully as the older man walked into the one story home, you faintly heard him sigh as Lilo & Stitch began to play.
You took off your jacket, hanging it up in the small closet before moving to sit next to the curly haired girl on the bed. She smiled widely, wrapping her arms around you, watching your favorite childhood movie.
———————————————————————-
The one hour and twenty eight minutes were up, the credits were rolling as Eleven sat in silence, wiping some tears away. “El? what’s wrong?” you frowned, holding her closer to you, rubbing her back. “I’m stitch.” she mumbled, looking up to you.
You tilted your head, “Is that a good thing or bad thing?”
“A good thing” she smiled, before listing off who was who. “You’re Lilo, Hopper’s Nani—” she began, getting cut off but your small chuckle, “I’m sorry. I just never thought i’d hear my dad get compared to Nani. Continue.”
She giggled, before continuing, “Papa is Captain Gantu ? or Grand councilwoman I haven’t decided yet. Oh! Mike is Pleakly. Dustin is Jumba because I can see him being an evil scientist.”
“No.” you chuckled, “He could never.”
“Jonathan is David. For obvious reasons.” Eleven giggled again, watching as you playfully rolled your eyes. “And those reasons being?”
“He’s your boyyyfriennnd.” she giggled, holding onto her pillow. You on the other hand rolled your eyes, shaking your head with small chuckle. “I guess those reasons are accurate.”
“I love you, yn.” Eleven smiled, ignoring the man who stood at the doorway to check in on you both. “I love you too, Eleven.” you smiled, kissing the top of her head, “Now, get some rest.”
“Can you replay the movie?”
“Of course.” you smiled, getting off the bed walking over to the television, rewinding the tape back to the beginning, before pressing play.
“You’re better at this than I am.” Hopper spoke quietly. You stared at him in confusion, “Better at what?”
“Parenting.”
You shook your head, sighing softly, looking over at El who was watching Lilo & Stitch all over again. “You just have to let her go. Realize what you have in front of you. You still have Me and you have El now. Sooner you realize that, sooner everything will be okay again.”
He took a small breath, looking down at his wrist, then up to you. “Ohana, huh.” Hopper smiled, “Ohana.” you chuckled, shaking your head.

hey could I request a blurb for dbf! hopper where he calls reader whenever he needs help with eleven? love your blurbs!
OUR GIRL | J.H.
word count: 1k
warnings: I made this nanny!reader x dbf!hopper, hope that's okay, age gap obviously, reader is in their twenties. giggles terribly because I love him so much- also the gif??? ignore the blood though
summary: hopper asking you to come over after eleven and mike broke up
Tumblr media
You were sitting with your back against the wall, Eleven gripping her pillow tightly though her head was settled in your lap, your fingers digging through her hair in an attempt to calm her down. When Hopper called claiming he was having trouble with her attitude you'd expected to come over to settle a little pre-teen-encouraged spat, what you found, however, was a girl trying to cope with her first breakup.
"Ellie, I'm so sorry," you hummed, the girl moving further into your lap, looking up at you with the saddest brown eyes and absolutely breaking your own heart in the process. "Boys suck," was your simple reply, and though Hopper was stuck in the hall, not allowed in but obviously peaking through the half-closed window, he offered a little nod in agreement.
You'd been the designated nanny for all the kids in town, getting first-hand information about all the latest couples and crushes and you'd sworn to give Mike Wheeler a hiding at his full pre-teen age if he so much as caused a frown on the little Hopper's lips. She was special to you, always the best company if you had to finish an assignment when watching her, helping you with dinner when Jim was working late and it didn't help at all when you and Jim ended up in your complicated little love affair, you'd rearrange the whole town for her before, you'd wipe out the whole world for her now.
"Dad said so too," she sighed and you couldn't stop yourself from pulling her up into a hug, knowing she'd long outgrown being sat up in your lap to be coddled when sad but it was awful hearing her cry like this and she clearly didn't mind, nuzzling her head into your chest with a few sniffles. "Said he'd beat Mike up if I wanted, I didn't," you had to smile, looking up to the door knowing Jim was there, knowing he'd catch your eyes and shrug.
"You can still change your mind," the man noted, and when he pushed his head through the open space both you and Eleven shook your head, sharing a knowing look before reaching a hand out to beckon him over.
"Come on in, old man," you breathed.
"Dad," she groaned and peaked up from where she'd been engulfed in your, Jim's, sweater, letting him take her hand despite her pride, managing a little smile when you squeezed her one more time. "Not cool."
"Listen, Ellie," you stepped in, guiding her to look at you, smoothing some hair from her face and dotting away the wetness under her eyes. "Not all boys are trouble, you know, despite what your dad says, but do you maybe want to wait a little longer before trying the whole dating thing again?" she nodded quickly, if this is how bad Mike, her friend, could make her feel then she had zero interest in any other boys.
"No more boys, ever," she concluded and Hopper was very pleased with that, a wide smile dipping into his lips and earning him a warning raised brow from you. "Except for Dad," she added and made both you and Jim laugh lightly. "He's a good one, that's why he's your boyfriend," she explained and wiped her cheek dry, shrugging as if it was all very self-explanatory.
"He is a good one," you agreed, happy that she was no longer crying, clearly still sad but no longer needing the extra cuddles you had planned for later.
"Do all boys break your heart?" the purest little question, Hopper looked to you to answer, this entire conversation was not for him because he could swear she was just his little El yesterday and now she's talking about boys.
"Not all of them, not the good ones," she moved to sit next to you, a little yawn slipping from her lips, tired from all the crying and the long day and the drama that was sure to come, so you brushed a hand up and down her back, an old habit from when she struggled to fall asleep. "Your dad would never," you were looking at him, smiling just as widely as he was, it was something to behold, such a silly little gesture but it was true, Jim Hopper would protect your heart for as long as he could and you knew that for sure.
"Okay, so I just need to find a good one then, like Dad," Eleven yawned again and you nodded for Hopper to meet you in the hallway, slipping out from your little corner and holding onto the girl's hand as she moved to lay down, sighing happily as you draped her with a blanket, tucking her in just as you usually do.
"You don't have to worry about that now though, you know, just stay our little Ellie for a little while longer, won't you?" you crouched down to be at her level, smiling at her sleepy state and she giggled lightly at your comment.
"I'll try," she mumbled and you kissed her forehead, booped her nose, and squeezed her hand three times just like you'd do when she fell back asleep after a bad nightmare. "I love you, blueberry," she breathed, eyes closing, heart already asleep but mind fighting it just for a few seconds.
"I love you too, pancake," and you did, she wasn't yours, not even slightly but you loved her like she was, like you'd been a part of her life forever, and in special moments like these it felt like you were. "We need to have a little word with Wheeler," you announced tiptoeing into the kitchen where Jim was already making you a cup of cocoa, silently bribing you to stay a little longer.
"We can meet him in the alley," he scoffed and you were drawn to him without any control, melting into his back as you snaked your arms around his waist. "Thank you for coming to talk to our girl," he sounded shy in the statement, busying himself by putting too much sugar in the mug Eleven got you for your birthday, she'd painted it herself and admittedly it looked awful but it was your favourite thing in the world.
"Our girl," you breathed and the words sounded so perfect to your ears, tasted like home on your lips. "We do make a good team though, don't we?"
"The best," he lifted one of your hands from his waist, squeezing it three times, kissing it softly, holding it tight. "You staying the night?"
"Will you help me study if I do?" he wouldn't, he'd distract you long enough for you to cave and cuddle but you had an extra day to study anyway so you'd risk it.
"Of course, I will," he reached a hand around and patted your butt gently, completely contradicting his words. "No distractions, no kisses until you're done," you giggled, kissing the space between his shoulder blades and you didn't need to see his smirk to know it was there, hand not showing any signs of moving.
"Liar."

Just confused.
Eddie munson x hopper!reader
Summary: you and Eddie have an argument around your house and you say something that pauses everything.
You ans Eddie were arguing over something stupid. It started because he didn't call to tell you he was going home after hellfire and you thought something had happend to him. Eddie said you need to calm down. And it blew up from there.
You were in your room arguing. Hopper was sat in his recliner watching TV with el laying on the couch. Their eyes glued to the screen until your bedroom door opened. "Your so overdramatic Jesus christ." Eddie said as he walked out your bedroom.
"OH I'm dramatic says the person who was fucking speeding and got caught two weeks ago cause he was gonna be late to the hideout!" You shouted following after him.
"SO what that's none of your business how fast or slow i go without you in the van." HE argued back. Hopper looked at el and she looked at him. This was the first argument you two have ever had. You'd been dating 2 years. However you tended to worry about Eddie when he didn't call and he didn't understand how much you'd worry.
"You know sometimes it feels like your only with me to piss of My fucking dad!" You shout at Eddie who is by the front door. But he freezes in his tracks. So do hopper and el as they stare at you. Eddie puts his shoes down and shrugs his jacket back off. Looking at you heartbroken. The only nose to be heard was the TV.
"You think... y/n what." HE says just above a whisper. Your stood looking slightly stunned stuttering over your words bottom lip wobbling. "Baby you don't actually think that right?" Eddie askes taking one step towards you.
"I-I don't know." You say looking at the floor. Hopper shifts in his seat in position to stand up if needed el turns the TV off. "Babe." Eddie says quietly.
"Whenever your coming over and you know my dad's here you always come straight here. When your not sure you go elsewhere and don't call then I'm sitting worrying if somethings happend to you. Then you make smug comments to him n stuff and sometimes it feels like that." You say as a tear runs down your cheek. Hopper glances at Eddie curious what he's going to say.
"Baby. I would never ever do that to you. I know I'm a dickhead but no. I love you. Your my girl babe. I am so fucking sorry. I promise you. Swear on my own life, that I'm not dating you to annoy your dad. That's just an added bonus. I love you for you. I like your clumsiness, your random energy outbursts at stupid o'clock in the morning. Late night walks and drives. Your smiles, your eyes, the way your hair goes in the mornings, the list goes on. Don't ever think I'm dating you to annoy your dad. I'm sorry I keep not calling. I went home and showered and then came here. I'll call you next time so you know I'm safe." Eddie says as he approaches you closer taking your hand in his.
You don't know what to say so you nod. "I love you too. 'M sorry for freaking out and causing an argument and for what I said." You say tears running down your face as you squeeze Eddie's hand.
"Come here sweetheart." Eddie says pulling you into a hug which you willingly except arms going around his middle as he sways with you. After a few moments you look up at Eddie and ducks down and kisses you lightly.
"Ewwww." El says from the couch. You pull away from Eddie and huff a laugh. "You two done screaming at eachother?" Hopper askes as you both nod. "Good, come sit down and watch a movie with me and el let's have some chill out time." Hopper suggests. You both agree. El scoots onto on couch cushion instead of all three.
Eddie sits on the one furthest from el and pulls you onto his lap. You rest your head on Eddie and legs on the empty cushion as the movie Hopper just put in starts.
-
Thr movie finished and you got into comfier clothes and climbed into your he'd with Eddie's he held your close kissing you. "M sorry I didn't call I promise I will next time." HE mumbles.
"I'm sorry I overreacted when you called me dramatic." You whisper back.
"I'm not with you to annoy your dad I love you and only you. Annoying your dad's the fun bonus. Never ever think that again. I'm yours." HE mumbles kissing you again.
"I know." You kiss back.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
"I love you more."
"You really gonna start that battle with your half asleep girlfriend munson?"
"If it means we can lay here forever then yes."

“You wouldn’t dare!” Jim warned as you stood there in nothing more than one of his old t-shirts. Holding the phone receiver in the air, your finger hovered just above the last number waiting to be dialed on the phone beside your bed.
You laughed, your expression full of cheek as you stared at your half-naked husband standing on the other side of the bed, his own expression amused yet slightly worried you would follow through with your threat. “I’m sure poor old Mrs. McCarthy would love to hear how you were the one to leave a flaming bag of dog shit on her doorstep every day for two weeks straight.” Raising your eyebrows, you shrugged your shoulders, “Sure, you were only ten at the time, but still... the future chief of Police? It’s such a disgrace.” The look on his face was adorable, you didn’t know if he was going to laugh or lose his mind. Honestly, he didn’t need to know that Mrs. McCarthy was expecting a call from you this morning, to organise a time for you to drop off her groceries.
You moved your finger closer and closer to the button, torturously slow, watching as he crossed his arms in front of himself and shook his head, “Don’t... Don’t do it.” When your finger hit the button, his mouth dropped open, his hands coming to rest on his hips, his expression now serious and his voice stern, “ Hang up... I mean it (YN), hang up.”
Raising a gentle finger to your lips, your face transformed with complete innocence, “Shhh... it’s ringing... I can barely hear over all your chatter.” Well, that was it, he lost it. Diving across the bed he made a reach for the phone, but you easily sidestepped his hand, backing yourself up against the wall. Before he even had the chance to recover you were talking again, this time to Mrs. McCarthy, “Good morning Mrs McCarthy, how’s your leg feeling today?” Jim’s face fell dramatically to the covers, groaning with embarrassment, but not before glaring at you like you were the evilest person in the world. When you spoke again, you saw his head pop up at your words but you couldn’t look at him for fear of bursting with laughter, “That’s good to hear... So, I was hoping to drop those groceries off to you at about three today... If that’s okay?” Taking a peek towards the bed, you noticed him shaking his head, looking up at you through furrowed brows and you had to bite your cheek to keep from laughing, “Great... I’ll see you then... Bye, Mrs. McCarthy.”
Leaning over, you placed the receiver back on the phone and you could see him stealing a glance down your shirt before he made a move to stand. Staring at you through squinting eyes, he was now the one moving torturously slow, backing you into the corner, his voice sounding as if he was on duty, “You’re a wicked woman, Mrs. Hopper, threatening a police officer like that.” You took a deep breath, your back now flat against the wall and you couldn’t help but bite your bottom lip as he spoke again, his eyes intent on yours, “Now, I can let you off with a warning, but only if you're sorry... So... how are you going to show me that your sorry.” Reaching around to the small of your back he pulled you towards him, his large hand sliding down to grab your arse, whispering against your ear, “Because, I have a few ideas that I’d be happy to show you.”
Placing your hands upon his bare chest, you smiled wickedly, before pushing him backward onto the bed. And when he tried to sit up, you pushed him back down, straddling yourself across his legs. Leaning down, you gave him a gentle kiss, finishing roughly as you bit his bottom lip, hearing him groan with anticipation. And lifting your head back just a couple of inches, you shook your head, your fingertips getting lost amongst his hair, before brushing your lips against his ear, “It’s okay chief... I have a few ideas of my own.”

Stationed Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: Writing this was so much fun,, the thought of soft Hopper makes my heart so soft.
Pairing: Jim Hopper x Male!Reader
“This is police officer Callahan and police officer Powell. Guys this is the new police officer Y/L/N.”
Flo’s voice was calming as she introduced Y/N to the two police officers to her left, a soft wave of acknowledgement from the three before Y/N spoke up. His voice was calm yet deep which surprised him because of how nervous he was.
“Y/N is just fine.”
There was a soft lull in conversation then before Flo began to walk, but not before telling Powell and Callahan that they had to help Y/N; the newcomer quick to follow the stout lady with his hands in his pockets.
“Here’s where you’ll be sitting. It isn’t too far from everyone and nice and close to the coffee machine.”
Y/N laughed then, thanking Flo sincerely before taking a seat and getting comfortable. He set his hat on his desk before musing his hair and adjusting his uniform to sit comfortably on his body; the clothing flattering in a way that had him shortly admiring himself in the mirror before he came into work.
The sun came through the windows in a way that made everything around Y/N look dreamlike and hazy, bringing a smile to his face before he began to look over the sheets of paper on his desk.
‘Time to get to work.’
--
It wasn’t a surprise that Hopper was late to work. Again.
He parked his car skillfully in his spot before getting out, a cigarette resting between his lips in a way that could only be described as nonchalantly hot. The day felt like it was getting away but Hopper knew that Flo wouldn’t be too mad at him, after all she had a soft spot for the man.
“You’re late.”
The words washed over Hopper but he rolled his eyes when his half burnt cigarette was plucked from his lips and to take the place was an apple in his hand. It didn’t take too long before another cigarette was resting loosely between his lips, staying unlit until he was within the safe confines of his office.
“Flo come on.”
“No and besides you need to at least meet Y/N and show him around.”
“Y/N?”
It was Flo’s turn to roll her eyes then, not at all surprised that Hopper had forgotten what she had told him not even a week prior. She knew that she had briefed him on the new officer that would be working at the station, remembering setting the file on his desk and watching him flip through it while she talked.
“Yes Hopper. Y/N is our new officer. Please just introduce yourself and be nice.”
--
It was around midday when Hopper left his office, an unlit cigarette between his lips and the need for a coffee clinging to his bones. The sun felt warm on his skin as he walked over to the coffee maker, his mug held loosely in his hand as he looked through the window before filling the cup; his mind elsewhere as he took a slow sip.
“Um excuse me?”
It was then that Hopper blinked and turned his head to the right, making eye contact with someone that he wasn’t familiar with.
“Yes?”
Hopper’s voice was calm but his heart suddenly picked up and a shy heat spread up his neck before resting on the apples of his cheeks; the man in front of him haloed in sunlight that made him look ethereal.
“O-Oh I was just trying to get to the coffee maker.”
Hopper stepped back then to create a little room for the man before letting his eyes graze over him; his voice momentarily lost before he cleared his throat and got Y/N’s attention.
“I’m Jim Hopper by the way, Hawkin’s chief of police. People usually just call me Hopper though.”
He took another sip of coffee while looking at the new officer, his eyes raking his frame in a way that caused a tug in his lower stomach.
“I’m Y/N Y/L/N but Y/N is fine.”
Y/N’s voice sounded like honey to Hopper and the way his eyes were doe like over the rim of his mug as he took a sip and looked innocently at the older man had him completely head over heels. It was hard to stop him from following the action of Y/N’s tongue as it moistened his bottom lip, internally whining when Y/N brought the pink skin between his teeth.
“Hopper are you okay? You face is quite flushed.”
Hopper blinked then and took another sip of his coffee as he tried to calm down the static that he felt in the peripherals of his mind. Y/N was ethereal in a way that Hopper couldn’t describe, an enamoured wonder clinging to Hopper as he took in the way Y/N’s eyelashes blushed his cheeks softly and also the smattering of freckles across his nose. It took him a little bit before he realised that Y/N had asked him a question.
“Sorry what was that?”
Y/N laughed and Hopper’s heart skipped a beat, taking in that the sound of Y/N’s laugh was his new favourite sound.
“I asked if you’re okay.”
“Yeah I’m fine. How are you? Are you settling in by the way?”
Y/N ran a hand through his hair and Hopper caught a whiff of soft vanilla and pomegranate, the scent causing his mind to go hazy in the most pleasant way.
“I’m doing just fine. Everyone has been really nice to me so far and settling in has been easy.”
The smile that followed Y/N’s admission blew Hopper away, it was as if Y/N had encapsulated the sun in his smile and the stars in his eyes from how they twinkled in the light. The air left Hopper’s lungs but he didn’t notice, his stomach doing a flip before settling and his cheeks warming up.
It was then that Hopper put a cigarette between his lips and lit it, the smoke curling prettily in front of Y/N’s face before he inhaled, YN’s eyes following the movements as the smoke was slowly exhaled; Y/N in awe.
“Wow.”
Y/N’s eyes were wide and bright which caused a small smile to settle on Hopper’s lips, taking in the man in front of him through the dissipating smoke.
“Yeah wow.”

ooh I would love to read some dbf!Hopper right now!! Maybe doing something mundane like taking a nap together or just spending a lazy weekend at his cabin <333
CLOSER | J.H.
word count: 0.5k
warnings: screwed around and wrote a little blurb sorry, age gap, lovey dovey dbf jim my beloved- also I'm sorry this gif???
Tumblr media
"Hop," you were giggling into his chest, suffocated in the best possible way as his arms snaked tightly around you, a leg draped over your own to lock you in and truthfully you were lucky he opted for a shirt before jumping right into bed with you after his night shift. "Baby, I need to breathe," he didn't care for that, simply humming before tightening his hold, managing a tender kiss to the top of your head as he released the sweetest sigh of contentment.
"You're not close enough," he admitted and you gave in, struggling was clearly futile so you twisted your head, griping onto his bicep, the hand drifting to your bum had a mind of its, squeezing lightly before pushing you even further into him.
"That better?" you knew it wasn't, you hadn't had much chance to assess his mood before you were tackled but it was clear he had a hard day and your surprise visit that turned into a surprise sleepover seemed the best medicine.
"No."
"I don't think I can get much closer than this," you would try if you could, but what you could do was force a hand up his neck, settling in the hair behind his ear, earning a little sigh that made you melt and you simply had to kiss his chest, three times, just to be sure. "My baby."
"That's my line," he budged just a little, only to be able to slide down and place his forehead against yours, eyes taking their sweet time taking you in. "I love you," it was whispered, more like an exhale than a statement and you weren't surprised when he brought a thumb to trace over your bottom lip, the kiss to his fingertip was even less of a surprise, a natural reaction. "Do you need to do anything today?"
"No," you did, you had a whole list of things actually but not a single one of them was nearly as important as the little grin that bit at his plump lips from such a simple answer. "Was hoping for a little lazy day, does that sound good?"
"So good, baby," he stole a kiss, another, a third just for safety and you couldn't fight a smile. "So damn good."
